a postcard from my mom
this year has been eventful to say the least. a year of fear, growth, discovery, and loss. there were periods of long sleep, bear-like, and months that seemed to fly by - a timeline so stacked with activity it could be a smudge on the page. now, during the holidays when everything is soft and slow and the sun hides her face, the night is quiet enough - still enough - for my mind to drift in peaceful reflection. it doesn't hurt anymore. most days, i find myself smiling.
the best part of my year was felix. that's easy. our relationship changed so much over the year, and grew even more. to love felix is to feel seen. i'm incredibly lucky. thank you for everything, abu babu.

i've been working hard on my painting this year, too. it was nice to see some impressionist works on a trip to paris with felix.
